Diary: The wild beauty of the Baja California 
Partly torn by the new world forces of the earth, the peninsula of Baja California reveals a mysterious island. At the heart of the Vizcaino Desert, multifaceted cacti have adapted to the harsh climate, while in the Sierra de San Francisco, the hot rock hides the story of an Indian civilization has disappeared. So this long finger of desert, a narrow corridor of deep water, the Sea of Cortez, separates the continent. A subtle marriage between land and water, which gives birth to gigantic creatures, like the blue whale, the Humboldt squid or manta ray.
In this set of islands, which protects the peninsula of Baja California, ballet pelicans astonishes the traveler. It is true that the cold, deep waters in charge of nutrients, are the Gulf of California aquarium angel. The sea bird beak plunges down the middle schools of sardines that pass through the corridor. But the Sea of Cortez is filled with another surprise. Predator outstanding, the giant squid Humboldt, seems like a scepter, in the lights of the divers who came to observe it. Each night, the giant begins his hunt, plumb the abyss.
